The Story Thus Far Empty
PostSubject: The Story Thus Far   The Story Thus Far EmptyTue Jun 14, 2011 6:15 pm

Tisconderoga. A planet torn apart by war, and pieced back together by the sorrowful will of those left behind in the wake of the flames. Here within this realm lies six lands, each unique in it's own right. But in the beginning however, there was only one land, and one people. The Highbourne found themselves the pinnacle of mortal evolution, and evolved to the point they could rival the Gods and Goddesses of Nature, Light, and Dark themselves. They dared to wage war on the Gods, and overtime shattered the One Land, creaiting The Six. The Gods banished the Highbourne from our Mortal Planes, forcing them to the depths of The Endless Black, forever imprisoned by the Gods Of Darkness. The Gods Of Nature, sadden by the loss of their children, remade the world, creating new mortal races in the Highbourne's stead. The Gods Of Light then shone down upon these new lands and mortals, and breathed a new life into them. In the end, the Great Creation had exhausted the Gods, and they left, to recover their strength for when their new creastions would need them. Before leaving however, the Gods Of Light laid upon the land six temples, each with it's own beacon of an element from the Gods Of Nature, and used them to build a prison within the Lands Of Shadow and Darkness, to be stewarded by the Gods Of Darkness. Should The Mortal Races ever be in need of the Tri-Gods ever again, they need but activate The Temples Beacons, and they shall return to aide them.

An eon has passed since then, and many have forgotten the old tales. Many now believe all forms of Gods and Higher Powers have all but abandoned them, and strive forward on their own. This has lead to a realm divided, a realm ripped apart by it's own internal strife. It all started when Ellesmaria, believing themselves to be the most intellegent of all the region's nations, decided to spread their so called knowledge and power throughout all the world. The King Of Ellesmaria's first region to spread his influence to was to be Balavaria, who he believed to house the lowest forms of intellegent life. His "enlightenment" would include ethnic cleansing of each land, and needless to say, The Warlords of Balavaria did not bode well with this.

Their war has raged on for nearly sixty years now.

Ellesmaria never was able to attack other nations while at war with Barlavaria, and as such, the world simply did not notice nor care what happened between the two continent nations, and left the small independant provinces and city-states to fend for themselves. One such nuetral province was Karsten, The Province that was reknown for it's infamous Yeomen Patrollers.

"The Blood of the outsider makes the blade and it's wielder truly holy." The Motto of the Yeomen Patrollers.

The Yeomen Patrollers were a group of soldiers that fought for Karsten to keep out invaders and other hostile, non-friendly, and over all not welcome people. When the war between Barlavaria and Ellesmaria erupted, they had to fight both nations from taking over their nuetral spec of land. They were also prisoners, given a second chance at freedom and a clean slate should they survive fifty of the suicide missions they were sent out on. The Hero of this tale, Adimus Serailius De Firenze was one such Yeomen Patroller, made such after he was taken in by the Reagent King Of Karsten, who set Adimus to be trained in Knighthood, until a harsh betrayal befell him, and in the Reagent King met his end. The traitor that did this to him was a fellow orphan, High Inquisitor Remus Akoes, who took the throne, and forced Adimus into Yeomenship. After ten, long, ardous years, and befriending a crazed explosives tech named Luis, or Mad Dog Lou", and enlisting permanently the aide of the worlds top assassin, (a tale in of itself), whom which he had nicknamed "Pete", Adimus finally came upon his final, 50th mission. Greatly respected by the people of Karsten, Adimus looked forward to finally returning to them and casting down Remus for the traitor he was, and finally having his vengeance. However, this was not to be, for fate had differently plans for the "Blood Stained Holyman".

The night of his final mission, Adimus came across a battalion of the finest troops of Ellesmaria. In the middle of the column lied a grand carriage, and within it, as Adimus quickly found out, The rumored "Scarlet Princess" of Ellesmaria, escorted by her own brother the Crimson Prince. Thinking it was his chance to greatly influence and possibly end the war, Adimus decided to get close to launch an attack on the battalion, only to find that the soldiers, for some reason, had suddenly turned on each other. The Crimson Prince lay slain by his men, and soon the blades were pointed at the carriage holding the princess. Adimus decided that instead of killing her, he would save her, as to obtain answers for what he had just seen. After saving the Scarlet Princess, and returning her to the Ellesmarian border, he was greeted by the King's own elite guards, who easily subdued him and his squad.

Pete, being the only one to not be captured during the battle, followed Adimus and his captors all the way to Chateu`Defron, the Ellesmarian capitol, where Adimus and Lou was locked away. After several failed attempts to break in and rescue his comrades, Peter finally ran across Azriel, the Court Mage of Castle Chateu who was held against his own will, for reasons unknown to anyone but the king himself. Azriel, noticing Pete trying to enter the dungeons numerous times, felt he and the prisoners had a common goal, and with Peter's help, Azriel was going to get what he wanted. In an exchange of services, Peter was to remove Azriel's enchanted shackles, and Azriel would release Adimus and Lou. After doing so for each other, albeit with much more effort on Peter's side for he had to fight the dungeon's captain, both deals were met, and Azriel, now being freed, reclaimed his possessions from the king and saw to it that Adimus and Lou would safely get out of the castle back to Karsten.

Through great ordeal, Adimus and his deranged group finally gained their freedom, and with three more to add to their flock, The Scarlett Princess Alletta, now a refugee from a failed assassination attempt, set up by her own father, and her bodyguard, the ever faithful Knight Franz De Hernan Albert`, as well as the recently freed Court Mage Azriel. They made their way back to Karsten, only to find the city undersiege. Franz at this time confessed to Adimus and Alletta that he was sent from Armetisia to monitor the proceedings of the war between Ellesmaria and Barlavaria, and was one of the famed Walkers Of The Council, people who traveled outside of the law, and did the Armetisian Council's bidding for the greater good of the realm. As such, Adi saw his way out of Yeomenship, and decided to go with Franz and Alletta to Armeisia and if possible, become a Walker. Franz agreed to take Adi with him, an as such, made preperations to get to the harbor within Karsten to commendere a ship to head for Armetisia. However, Adimus had unfinished business to attend to, and went to deal with High Inquisitor Remus.

Upon entering the throne room, and going in for the kill on Remus, Adimus was blown back, and held down by an unknown force. He then witnessed a man descend from seemingly nowhere, wielding both the powers of a spellweaver and a psychic with fierce ability. The man simply turned to Remus, nodded, and then looked upon Adimus, smiled, and cast him out of the keep, throwing him into the harbor, where he was found and rescued by Franz. As Adimus lost consciousness, he grasped one last look as the great wall of Karsten fell, cast down by a man with long silver hair and a greatsword of sheer blackened metal, walking along side of the very man who had thrown him from the castle keep. The city fell due to Remus' betrayal yet again, this time belonging to the country of Ellesmaria.

After what felt like an eternity, Adimus awoke within the safety of Armetisia, and after meeting with the Council Of Seven and informing them, alongside of Franz and Alletta, of the events that occured within the borderland of Karsten and the betrayals, was abolished of his false sins, and trained as a Walker Of The Council. Adimus' first assignment as Walker was to make up a team to deal with a new threat on the horizon: "Aegis".

"It would seem that a man calling himself simply by the name of 'Gil' has created a team of vastly powerful beings all with an elemental mastery all their own, one for each element. This man, Gil, has ended the war between Ellesmaria and Barlavaria, but has also conquered them both through foul play and vulgar displays of power, and has set his sights on the rest of the realm. Adimus Serailius De Firenz, and Franz De Hernan Albert`, you two shall put forth a team, for you two are the only Walkers that can aid in ending this, for the rest of your kind are stretched across the realm, fighting now to hold back the armies of Aegis. Do whatever you must to end this threat to peace and life, and restore order and balance to the Region-Continents of Barlavaria and Ellesmaria. Go forth, and make us proud."

With his new title and equipment, Adimus was now set to go about to use any reasonable and just means necessary to bring about the end of this new threat.

And with that, we stand where we are today. The question to you Dear Reader, is what role shall you play in the strings of fate? Shall you be a General? A warrior perhaps? Or possibly a Master of Magick, out for his own gain amongst the chaos of war. Maybe you will be one of the many gifted Psychics, or Engineers of Death itself. Whatever your role, know now, that with whatever is given to you........Or taken from you, you must see it out to the very end itself!

Choose now Dear Reader, what path you shall walk: Peace or Destruction.
