Crossroads Outpost

A caravan of 3 carts appears at the end of the roadway, its about 50 miles out of Arnameaus City, a good 2 days of travelling. In the middle of the caravan is a decorated cart, it seems to be a diplomats, but it is unclear from what region. As it comes closer to the outpost it is obvious that it is a guarded caravan, so most definitely there is important cargo or a noble contained within it.

Viral peers outside of his cart in the middle of the caravan. It seemed that they were coming up to a travelers outpost in the roadway, it contained what he could see, an Inn or Tavern, A merchants shop And a small market. "We will stop here for a night or two to recooperate and rejuvinate. It has been a long week, and everyone deserves a rest, all costs are on me." Viral speaks to the caravaneer's leader, who then relays the order to the rest of the caravan.

The caravan rolls to a stop infront of the outpost, the lead guard speaking to the guard of the outpost, and after a few minutes, the caravan is allowed to continue. It pulls into the small outpost and the vehicles and carts are parked to the side of the entrance. Viral stepping out of his heavily decorated cart and stretching, he was wearing a red and black vest, with a matching tie and dress pants. His red hair fell to the top of his neck, his bangs hanging to the side of his eyes.

He looked around, then turned back and took a seat on the back of his cart, taking out a pack of strawberry gum and placing a stick in his mouth. His black marks notified that he was a magi of some kind, but did not confirm his race, or from where he had come.

Jeni trotted up to the small tavern just needing a little refreshment. She was dirty and tired and had been on a cross country horse race. Luckily she had won the purse. Some times she needed to do something for her and for a little fun every now and again. She didn't really get much time for cross country races any more and some times really missed it. But Jace had told her that he did not need her assistance and she had asked if she could have a few days off, which he had consented to allowing her. But she had to return right after. Her horse slid to a stop. She smiled as she remembered the look on many of the mens faces. She was riding a monster in their eyes, but to her, her horse was just bigger than the rest.

As she got off of her horse she sent him over to some trees where there was grass and where he could get some decent feed. She entered the tavern just as some caravan's pulled up. She only caught the first few words of a man. She left the door open and was immediately greeted by the bar tender. "A tremendous victory my lady! Congradulations on your win of the cross country tournament." He said and issued her just a large glass of water. "The pleasure is with me. She offered issuing him a large tip. She was impressed not only by his courtesy but also by his service. She didn't have to ask, he assumed and he assumed correctly. She had been without much water the last couple days and she had hardly anything to eat. But it was okay. Her horse was healthy and that was all that mattered to her.

Gavrosh had left the city on his own for some peace and quiet. the city was fine but Gavrosh was not a people person. having lived 340 years the beastrian was content to serve any government that gave him benefits and the walkers gave the most. he walked along the road untill a smell wafted to his powerful nose. A member of the hyena clan Gavrosh had to open his mouth to let the air fall in against his powerful taste glands at the roof of his mouth so that he could fully take in the smell.

Two days out of the city he could recognize the smell of food, good food too meat being cooked. as much as gavrosh didn't want to admit it he was half starved. and meat sounded good. he started to drool a bit half from an ansesters gene which haunted the hyena clan, and the other half came from his own starvation. he picked up his pace and started running.

arriving at the actual carravan he blinked seeing the tavern this place was covered in the smell of food. he tasted the air letting it wash over his mouth and walked into the tavern. walking blindly to the counter he continued to smell the air. there was someone here someone that he had scented before, and it was fresh, female too. he looked around trying to figgure out who he had scene and where, but decided to screw that idea and oder his food. taking a plate of steaks as he started eating.

Viral watched as a Beasty and what looked like another human walked into the tavern, he might join in with them later, but he had some organizing to do. He stuffed the packet of gum back into his pocket and paced around the to point of the peculiar looking caravan. (I did that on purpose by the way) He took some forms out of the lead cart, along with a pencil, and began filling them out. He mumbled some words as he did so "Approximate costs.... six hundred cash, Bedding, Food, Extra Costs. Reason.... Extensive Exhaustion, Un-avoidable cercumstances." He continued to mumble out words as he finished filling out the forms. Then putting them into a folder in the lead cart.

Viral turned around to find a large horse right behind him, near the cherry tree they had parked at. "Yahh! What the hell!" He backed up against the cart, only to get nuzzled by the animal. "Who's horse is this, it is quite uncomfortable?!" He cringed, the horse nuzzling his face, him then continuing to duck out of the way and run to the tavern door. The horse trotting happily after him, almost as if it knew he were avoiding it. "Its following me damn it!!" He exclaimed putting his hands forth and creating a small group of shadowy lines to block anything infront of him.

Porthos had been plucking the green grass that was stained red from all the sweet cherry juice. He even got some cherries while he munched away. A scream was what caught him off gaurd. He raised his head quickly and then caught the scent of something sweet. He made his way over to the man who was now pressed up against the back of the large....moving thing and began sniffing at the man pushing his large nose into the mans face. He was finding joy in the scent that this stranger was emitting. But too soon was the stranger gone. Porthos followed him, the chains around his neck clanking as he trotted after the man. As he neared the man once more black lines that looked like snakes shot out before him. Rearing up and tossing his head he let out a feirce roar.

Jeni had been sitting in the tavern enjoying her water when she heard Porthos' decorative chains clanking. She then heard a man scream. This caused her to panic. Was someone again trying to steal Porthos? She hissed and was up off her chair in one graceful and elegant move. She was across the tavern and was about ready to open the door when the peircing sound of her horse caused her to panic more. She roughly kicked open the door of tavern and had her large hunting knife already drawn. She only peeked around for a quarter of a second and she saw no one, except the guy chewing bubble gum her knife was at his throat in an instant. "Stay still stranger. Or die where you stand." She said and then moved away from him towards her horse and checked him for any injury. She did a once over and found nothing wrong. She breathed a sigh of relief and snapped her fingers at her horse sending him back to the tree to graze. She turned her attention back to the man. "Something I could help you find on my horse?" She asked arching an eye brow and removing her jacket.

Finishing his meal Gavrosh sighed as he heard a man scream like a little girl. he couldn't or rather wouldn't care what was going didn't really concern him but he finnished his meal and guessed that this disturbince probably followed under the lines of something he would need to deal with.

He followed the noises and what he saw shocked him slightly. a young woman had a knife to a young mans throat, and although she looked familiar he was damn sure that was some kind of illegal. he sighed knowing he should do something but watched from a distance scenting the air, and watching as the young woman sent her horse away to graze. he blinked slightly why did she seem familiar. his memory was fine if not a little scrambled at any one time if he thought to far back. she was a young human her face was familiar but he couldn't remember why.

then it clicked she was a walker! so this was official business? no the man didn't look like a target. still he thought he should make his presence known. he thought about it and finally decided that he would take an opertunity to intervien he walked over too the two and decided to play the oblivious card his tail moving slightly awkwardly. "Um would one of you mind explaining what this altercation is about? there are many patriots to this tavern who would rather blood not be spilled on our lawn."

Viral lowered his hands, looking between the two newcomers. He had no idea why he was being threttened or as to where that horse had come from. It took him a few seconds to get what this scene looked like, but when he did, he sighed a large sigh of exasperation. "I am sorry, it seems that this is a mis-understanding, your horse must have smelled my gum or something. It came over to me, at my cart, and was herassing me a bit. Nuzzling me and all, no offence, but, Im not quite a fan of.... pets. Although this one is very majestic, and... large. They trouble me, and some even cause me to become violent."

He put up one hand, and gave a polite, democratic smile. "Viral Xerasu, ambassador. Pleasure to meet you madmoizelle. I do not belive I caught your name?" He put his hand out for a handshake, something he would rarely do to someone who just threattened him. But in the end, he had looked a bit suspicious. By now, three caravan guards had come to surround the group, each with rifles in hand.

Jen sheathed her knife somewhere in the regents of her clothing and jacket. She turned to look at the beastarian whom was attempting to stop her from spilling any blood. She recognized him as well. She looked towards him and put her hands up. "The knifes put away. Besides you can't blane me for defending the one thing I care about more than life." She responded clearing her throat and then looking back to her horse and then back to the man she'd just threatened. "He's not a pet, he's a feirce allie and a wonderful partner. He's my perfect partner. I am very glad that you did not become violent in this case. Other wise we wouldn't be having this discussion." She said gazing at Porthos with fondness.

She noted the mans posture as he smiled and then introduced himself to her. He then asked for her name. Some times she wished she had more sense than to just talk. "I am Jeniveve Larou." She said and then had to rewind something he had said. He was an ambassador? Hmmm, could come in handy at a later time. She took his hand and firmly shook it. She then was on gaurd as three gaurds came around the corner of the caravans rifles in tow. She drew out her own set of throwing knives and was preparing to battle;

"I am gavrosh, and no i guess i can't really blame you." So it wasn't official business after all that allowed gavrosh to relax a little. as the guardsmen walked up with riffles gavrosh sighed. why was it always hard to just get along. still they were civilian law inforcment at least that's what it looked like it should only take them a wave of the badge to diswade any further combat so why was the girl so anxious for a fight.

Gavrosh turned and opened his mouth about to protest when a bullet smacked into his head blowing out a good chunk of his brains. gavrosh's body falling to the ground. for a moment he lay still on the ground. silent as death overcame his body. then his body started to reform healing from the bullet wound as the regeneration cycle that had binded Gavrosh to the mortal plane took over.

"Wow, Shiiiit, Hey guys, its oookay just FUCK" He covered his ears as one of the men let a round go, right into gavrosh's head. He looked at the body, then up at the guard, who immediately gave a apologetic look. "Goddamnit, you stupi......." He was caught offguard by the other male rising back to life. "Jesus.... your a pretty resilient one..." Viral looked back to the guards and waved them off. "Sorry about that, they are a bit trigger happy, their merc's I hired to escort the caravan."

He gave a crooked half-assed smile. "Anyways.... I guess you'll be wanting a monetary settlement to not charge me now?"

They were well on their way to clearing this little misunderstanding up when she heard the sound of thunder and realized that a bullet had been fired. Why was it, they always went after the wrong person?! Damned mercs! They always drove her nuts. She sighed and was about ready to lay into the one that had fired the shot when Gavrosh began regenerating. She snarled and roughly pushed the man back whom had fired the shot and seized the rifle from him. "Now look what you've done!" She said slapping him with the end of his rifle and then shoved it back at him.

She turned her attention back at Viral seeming to have her feathers deruffled. "I sincerely apologies for my luide behavior. I can never be too careful especially with a prize like him." She said nodding back to her horse. "What brings you here Ambassador?

pain surged threw gavrosh as the major damadge repaired its self and he gasped as breath came back into his lungs. he got up blinking one eye having yet to fully repair its self was still regenerating. so at the moment his vision was blurred and unfocused both from pain and the regeneration process.

"six hundred and eighty nine." he said coldly under his breath. blinking as he came aware that the others had probably noticed that he was not nearly as dead as he should be. when he spoken too that he was resiliant he shrugged. "Its not resilience its painful as hell."

Gavrosh got to his feet and brushed himself off. parts of him were covered in blood and there was still brain matter on the ground his eye still hadn't fixed its self and he looked kind of like a zombie crawling out from the grave. "ambassador? I am guessing that means he wan'ts to speak to the council of seven."

Gavrosh gave a small smile towards the woman. however he doubted that he could in his current state charm anyone or anything. "I think i need to take a shower to get the grey matter out of my hair. However if i am correct and you are going towards armistia mind if i hitch a ride it would be a four day walk if i go alone."

Gavrosh blinked he was guessing that he was being far to casual for a man who just got his head blown off, but in all honesty it just didn't phase him anymore. a death would have to be a lot worse then a quick bullet to the skull before he actually gave it pause.

Viral looked back and forth between the two, a bit baffled as to why the beastarian was not dead. He responded to the lady first, "I completely understand, he is quite a healthy ..... ummm..... Horse! yes, Horse! I would be Protective too if I had such a expensive, and close.... umm.... friend?"
Viral then turned, giving a light smile to Gavrosh, and responding to his questions. "I am actually heading to the capitol to speak with the council. And, I suppose we have room in the caravan for one more. Also, I belive that I do owe you one for my "help's" incident."

Viral gave one last look between the two before scratching the back of his head and placing another stick of gum into his mouth, chewing on it silently, and keeping his mouth shut.

Jeni smiled at this mans choice of words. She could tell he was not trying to offend her. She chuckled just slightly and then listened in as he informed Gavrosh that he was heading to the Capitol to meet with the council. This ambassador had strange habits. She had seen other diplomats before and he was stranger than all of them combined, but she didn't mind it. It was actually kind of refreshing for a change. None, of that smooth talking business.

As Viral stated that Gavrosh could hitch a ride with them, she tilted her head to the side. "Would you both terribly mind if I tagged along? You won't even know that I am there, I promise." She made the 'crossing' her heart sign.

Gavrosh blinked as his eye finnished fixing its self. the pain leaving him and his vision restored he cricked his body a little working out the kinks as he listened to the man accept his request. "I think we would be lucky to have you along."

Gavrosh spoke his mind. he then turned to the inn it would have rooms with a shower where he could get the blood and brain matter out of his hair. "If you excuse me i really must take a shower, I don't know if either of you have ever been covered with your own grey matter but its not a pleasant feeling."

Gavrosh turned and left the present company and hit the showers of the in no one really questioned it more shocked by the reappearance of a man so covered in blood he was even able to get his room for free. though that was more thanks to the general silence.

Viral watched as the other male paced off, chuckling a bit at his comment. "I doubt that we would get the chance to know, seeing as we would be dead. But, I can imagine it would not be nearly as pleasant as I had imagined." He added a tinge of sarcasm to the end of his voice, giving that slight whisp of humor.

The man then turned his attention to Jeni, his lips curling up into a friendly smile. "I don't see why anyone would mind having a bautiful lady such as yourself tag along. I think it would be a refreshing sight, considerring that we are usually surrounded by banded men and armored vans." He gave a chuckle at his own joke.

Viral took out his pack of strawberry gum, putting a stick of it on the table next to the door. "If you have never tried gum maam, I suggest you do, it is a very interesting treat. I got this from Iga when I made a trip to kanto.They use natural cane sugar, the juices of different berrys and fruits, and some other stuff, and it lasts quite a while." He walked back to the caravan, stepping up and onto the side of his decorated cart. On the inside it had an arrangement of alcoholic beverages, some cargo space, three sleeping areas, and its ignition engine.

(Note: These are not regular carts, you could think of these as self-propelled trailers if you will, three of these large carts in the caravan and 4 armored vehicles. All carts except this one armed with ballistic weapons. As well as the armored cars.)

Jeni was kind of glad that they both felt the same. They wanted her company. And she didn't mind tagging along. It was where she was going after all, there was such a thing as safety in numbers and soon enough they would be traveling through very dangerous territory. She returned the smile that Viral gave her. "Well, I do hope that with your men, I do not become too much of a distraction." She offered and then looked into the caravan as he began rustling about. She was very impressed by what she saw, especially the weapons.

She caressed one of them gently as if she was caressing an animal. She looked up. "I have never tried any gum. And, I think I owe you a drink for putting up with my erratic behavior." She said and took his elbow and guided him into the tavern. She grabbed a couple of beers and sat down at a table, motioning him to sit down.

Gavrosh finished his shower and with a little bit of water was able to wash out most of the blood from his clothing. years of practice have made it easy to remove stains, and gavrosh walked downstairs looking far cleaner and healthier then he had before. finding his way back into the tavern and spotting his two new allies he walked back up to them.

"Sorry about that feeling better now that my bodies fully regenerated." Gavrosh spoke cleanly and bowed too his two companions as he took his seat his tail wagged against the chair but he couldn't really help that. "So if you don't mind me putting myself into this conversation, whats going on?"

The male took his seat, a little bit flustered. None the less, he leaned back, getting comfortable. Viral then took a bottle of beer, looking at it a bit oddly. "Alcoholic, five percent, ummm..... lager" He gave a confused look, swirling around the bottle of beer, watching as the precipitation dripped off the side. "Amber colored, like sap... I hope it doesn't taste like sap."

He swallowed a bit before taking the bottle, and throwing his arm down with it in his grasp. The glass barely misses the table, the edge hinging on the cap and tearing it off quickly. He had never drank a bottle of beer, that was apparent, but he could open one like a pro.

He took a quick swig, then placing it back on the table. He cringed at the taste, it was bitter, but had a smoothness to it as he swallowed. After he had taken another swig he smiled at Jeni and gave her a quick thanks. "You didn't need to do this, so.... thanks. Its refreshing to speak to someone not toting a gun, or waving a throne-stick around."

Jeni smiled as Gavrosh came and took a seat. She ordered another beer for him and sat back in her seat. She took a swig of her own beer, Viral's beer had been a lighter beer, her's was a darker beer , that was how she preferred it, the darker beers had a much smoother taste in her opinion, but it was open to debate. She turned her attention back to him and smiled. "I feel terrible about you having to put up with me." She said blushing slightly. "Well, I don't tote guns, or throne sticks. I tote other things." She said.

She never felt safe unless she was carrying a weapon of some sort, especially in a place like this, full of theives and bandits. Why did she come to these places? Simple. They had the best dark beer and the best tequila. In fact. She turned in her chair. "Can we get three shots of tequila?" She asked and immediately they were given three shot glasses filled with the clear liquid. She consumed the clear liquid which burned like fire on it's way down. She coughed and licked her lips.

Gavrosh took up his beer and took a swig hearing these two compare weapons he raised his gloved hand. "You name it I can make it. this is my weapon its called an omni tool, its a weapon the Shina elves made, it feeds off life force to create constructs out of light. nasty bit of problem though it tended to kill people that used it."

Gavrosh looked at the tequila for a moment before taking the shot and shuddered. Gavrosh was sadly immune to all disease and his body would regenerate from any chemical imbalince before he ever got to feel the effects. no matter how much he drank he could literally never get drunk. "I don't see why putting up with you would be that bad. For a human your attractive, and you don't seem to bad, you got your own horse so you wont be too much of an inconvience to anyone. really i think i would be more of an annoyance to you guys."

Viral looked at Gavrosh as he took a seat, then back to Jeni, and back to Gavrosh. "I don't think either of you will necessarily be an 'annoyance', I mean, the more the merrier, right?" He took a long look at the tequila, and watched how Gavrosh and Jeni drank them. He soon took it in hand an knocked it back, coughing heartily after it. "Ugh, I don't see how this can be at all enjoyable for you two. It kinda hurts my throat, ugh" He shook his head, then continued on his beer.

"At any rate, our caravan will be leaving in the morning, so if your coming, you should get some rest. And feel free to pack heavy, we have plenty of room." He stood up, looking to Jeni and nodding his head "Thanks for the drink. I'm tired, so I am hitting the sack, I don't know how you feel about pricey taverns. But if you don't wanna pay for a bed, theirs a place with the rest of the mercs, wonderful company if you like harassment. Or... you could stay in my room, I think theirs two beds, but don't quote me." He nodded up the stairs. "Third room to the right."

He turned around, pacing down the bar and up the stairs, disappearing into his room. The male looked around, their wasn't much to look at, one queen sized bed, a set of end tables, windows, patio and a bathroom. He walked over to the bed, and threw himself on it. Thinking out loud, his words got muffled in the pillow. "gnnf dmn it, fffteen days, mmmmnhn, fffuinnn tired."

Jeni was beginning to like her companions more and more. They appealed to her tastes and her way of living. She leaned back in her seat once again and then laughed Viral coughed after taking his shot. "You're not supposed to breath in when drinking the tequila.' She said and then looked back over at Gavrosh. "Really? You can make any weapon?" she asked. She was thuroughly enjoying these men and their friendlynes. She didn't terribly mind companionship at this point. She had been so used to being alone most of her life. She was starting to like the feel of companionship.

Besides she needed to go to the same city that these two needed to go to and so yes, the more the merrier. "You two are not a bother, and I think I may take you up on that room offer. Not in much of a mood to be lonely tonight let alone the target of sexual harrassment." She said and stood up stretching. She stretched and flung a saddle bag over her shoulder. She waited a few minutes and then went up to the room. A shower would be nice right about now. She stopped at the door and rapped lightly.

Gavrosh nodded towards the question though the omni tool had its limits under normal circomstances to him it was the ultimate weapon. the ability to craft light into just about anything he willed was a power he had come to apreacate over time.

as the women and man went off to go sleep in the same room the beastrian sighed he had been left on the outside of the room it seemed, after all it seemed the room had only been expended towards the woman, and although he didn't mind the idea of being left alone he did have to find it a little upsetting to be suddenly left alone.

Gavrosh got up to his feet techinacally he didn't need sleep his body would repair its fatigue just as fast as it was worn out. but that didn't mean he enjoyed spending countless hours up. he figgured that today could be one of those rare nights that he could stretch out on a bed and maybe try to allow him some sleep. getting to the rooms he walked past the woman "I probably won't sleep tonight so if you need some company in the late night or something nock on my door, its the second to the left." Gavrosh said before heading in. just becouse she was already invited to someone elses room didn't mean that he wanted to be left alone.

Viral perked up when he heard someone at the door, shoving his hands into the mattress to be shot back up onto his feet. He walked over to the door and opened it a crack, Viral then continuing to look around it and see that it was Jeni. He opened it the whole way, giving a light-hearted smile, "Umm..." He looked around, then it hit him... there was only one bed. "Theres only one bed...." He noted in a shy, small voice. "I am sorry about that...." His cheeks glowered red a for a moment, then faded. "I know, I can sleep in the floor, I have a cart-sleeper that I can grab out of the cart."

He was about to walk out of the room when he noticed that he had forgotten to un-pack. He put a finger up. "I still need to un-pack my stuff." He walked over to his bag and started taking out a bunch of forms, files, and some more fancy clothes, along with some dress shirts and a pair of ties.
